Area Finance Manager (North) - National Position

Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job The Area Finance Manager is responsible for the financial management of the area, ensuring that adequate financial management procedures and systems are in place, and that DRC’s and donor’s accounting practices and standards are adhered to in accordance with quality and policy requirements Monthly financial cash needs analysis, budgetary forecasts and report to Area Support Manager (ASM) for financial issues.  Duties Verifying application of DRC purchasing procedures for Tripoli and Akkar office’s payments; Ensure the weekly Cash count; Under the supervision of ASM, ensure monthly cash prevision and assure sufficient funds to be transferred from Beirut for activities in the bank account for Akkar and Tripoli offices; Responsible for the correct filing of monthly vouchers and sending them to Beirut; Bank and payments-to cashbook reconciliation; Ensure proper bookkeeping of payments according to DRC donor’s coding; Assists ASM in preparing and monitoring budgets funded by the donors and update and monitor the master budget at field level; Assist the ASM in update the donors’ budgets follow up on a monthly basis in consultation with programme managers;  To review the general ledger on a monthly basis and prepare all rebookings, to assist the ASM in drafting the financial reports to be submitted to the donors; To maintain a timely and proper organization of the accounting supporting documents into files according to donor requirements. About youTo be successful in this role you must have: University degree in Accounting, Business, finance or related area; Minimum of 2 years' relevant working experience. Fluency in written and spoken English; Good computer skills (Excel); Proven ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines; Personal commitment, flexibility, efficiency; Well-developed organizational and planning skills; Self-motivation and strong team spirit;  We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until the end of December 2016, with 3 months probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from mid August 2016 and be willing and able to work in Northern Lebanon.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level D+1, equivalent to USD 2,400 per month (basic salary).
