We are looking for a highly qualified volunteer who can engage in our organization as an Asset Verification Volunteer.
Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk
Duties• Go to all field offices to perform physical check of assets. • Cross check the physically verified assets against the actual list and search again for those not found, investigate further and discuss with staff about what happened to missing assets. • Where assets are missing, assist staff to compile reports, and follow up for possible insurance coverage of losses. • Update the master list with all information.• Cross check the master list with the financial data (BFUs, TDLs) and fill in the blanks on the asset register where financial purchase and donor data is missing. • Assist the field offices in updating the supporting documentation and filing for the asset management system. • Continuously update the master list with information from Beirut and field offices.• When all verification and cross checking is finished, update Beirut and field offices with new Master Asset Register.
About you• Qualification in Audit or forensic accounting• Excellent IT skills• Fluency in written and spoken English• Commitment to and understanding of DRC’s aims, values and principles• Able to travel to all DRC field offices, and stay overnight in field locations. • Experience with standard asset management procedures and documentation. • Relevant qualifications or training courses.
