Cash And Livelihoods Assistant (National Staff Only)

We are looking for a highly qualified, motivated and professional individual with a mind set to achieve success in a humanitarian organization working in a challenging but interesting environment.    Who are we?  The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.  For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.ngo   About the job  Assist in implementing all community focused cash and livelihoods activities in various DRC projects, especially including community support projects, community based project planning, cash for work initiatives, and municipal training.    Duties and Responsibilities  • Work closely with community members and community groups to design projects through DRC’s community based project planning.  • Raise awareness about the community support projects (CSPs) & cash for work (CFW) initiatives and mobilize community actors;  • Support communities to establish committees and groups, and support in designing projects based on the needs in coordination with Cash and Livelihoods Officer;  • Conduct need assessments with host and refugee communities including municipalities, community representatives and youth (maintaining gender balance) in coordination with the Officer;  • Conduct focus group discussions (FGDs) with host and refugee communities to identify common priorities for a particular area in coordination with the Officer;Assist communities in project design and implementation.  • Ensure full accountability to communities (and DRC) on the use of project funds;  • Support all monitoring, evaluation and learning activities including providing regular reports of activities to supervision, documenting feedback from beneficiaries, participating in lessons learned reviews and supporting internal and external evaluations of the activities;   About you  To be successful in this role you must have years’ Experience with NGO ; 1-2 years’ Experience in development projects or community mobilization in Bekaa;   A High school diploma and two years of related experience is essential or a Bachelor degree in related field in preferable.     In this position, you are expected to demonstrate DRC’ five core competencies:   Striving for excellence: You focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.   Collaborating: You involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.   Taking the lead: You take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.   Communicating: You listen and speak effectively and honestly.   Demonstrating integrity: You act in line with our vision and values.   Ideally, you will also be Fluent in Arabic, with Strong command of written and spoken English We offer  DRC will offer the successful applicant a two-month contract, renewable depending on both funding and performance.
