We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as a Child Protection Assistant.
Who are we?
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.
Duties
To organize psychosocial support activities for most vulnerable children, based on best interest and needs of children;
To engage with communities in order to promote children rights and advocate for children participation in PSS activities;
Identifies and refers individual or families with material or financial assistance needs when according to DRC’s financial assistance guidelines in consultation with the CP officer;
Keeping good relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders;
To report to the Child protection officer as soon as she/he suspects or observe or informed a child or children are at risk of abuse or being mistreated;
To set up necessary measures and proper environment to ensure confidentiality during identification, intervention and referral of CP cases;
About you
To be successful in this role you must have a Bachelor in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field, 2 to 3 years of experience in provision of Psychosocial support activities mainly with children and experience working as or with animators.
Ideally you will also have a Master degree in related field and have previously worked in INGOs.
We offer
An interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until end of June 2014, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from May 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tyre.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for nationals. Basic salary: 1385 USD
