Child Protection Coordinator

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that will oversee DRC child protection activities in the DRC areas of operations over Lebanon. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. DutiesThe CPC will be responsible for the day to day coordination of the Child Protection programming, provision of technical support, donor compliance and contribute to the development and consolidation of DRC CP programming in Lebanon.• Maintain an overview of the main child protection issues across the country, the responses that are underway, and the gaps in assistance, in view of ensuring appropriate emergency responses;• Oversee implementation of child protection activities and ensure that objectives and results are timely and qualitatively met; • Coach child protection staff, develop and deliver child protection trainings• Oversee administrative and financial matters related to the child protection activities under different donors (e.g. UNICEF, UNHCR);• Prepare proposals and reports internally and to donors periodically About youTo be successful in this role you must have a University degree or higher education relevant to human rights(preferably in law, social sciences or humanitarian aid), at least 5 years of proven international experience in Child Protection, advocacy work, and refugee law, and working experience in conflict affected and fragile states in (emergency) psychosocial support projects.Ideally you will have previous experience  in the middle east and with UNICEF or implementing emergency programs for UNICEF.
