Committee Volunteer (National Staff Only)

We are looking for a highly qualified who can fit the position of Committee Volunteer in Akkar.    Who are we?  Danish refugee council has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.  DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.  For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.ngo    About the job  The Community Committee volunteer is responsible for the support of the Community Committee officer in community mobilization activities and community committee initiatives.     Duties and Responsibilities  • Support the CCO in the establishment and development of the Community Committees (incl. recruitment (Ensure age, gender and nationality balance), commitment, development of terms of reference, follow up, community mobilization, etc.)  • Support the CCO in organizing meetings with Community Committees when necessary, on weekly or monthly basis.   • Maintain attendance sheets for the meetings;  • Support the committee members in identifying and referring vulnerable cases.  • Prepare and follow up on all procurement documents related to Commmunity Committee initiatives and community mobilization activities.  • In charge of the logistical arrangements for the meetings, trainings and other events in close coordination with the CCO.  • Ensure proper documentation of data collected (hard and soft copies).    About you  To be successful in this role you must have:   • Bachelor’s degree in Social work, psychology or other related field.   In this position, you are expected to demonstrate DRC’ five core competencies:   Striving for excellence: You focus on reaching results while ensuring an efficient process.   Collaborating: You involve relevant parties and encourage feedback.   Taking the lead: You take ownership and initiative while aiming for innovation.   Communicating: You listen and speak effectively and honestly.   Demonstrating integrity: You act in line with our vision and values.   Moreover we also expect the following:  Required qualifications:  • Previous experience working with Syrian Refugees in Lebanon  • Teamwork skills    • Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills    Desirable qualifications  Ideally, you will also have:  • English: Good  • Arabic: very good    We offer  DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract till the end of December 2017, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
