Community Center Officer

Who are weThe Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Conduct FGDs and to assess POC’s needs and interests;• Develop, plan and organize courses and activities responding to the beneficiaries’ needs;• Supervise and monitor all the community center activities,• Attend the activities, trainings and courses to evaluate the performance of the trainers and the satisfaction of the beneficiaries;• Provide constant feedback to his/her supervisor on progress, lessons learnt, achievements, gaps, issues and problems; • Responsible of developing and filing all documents related to the center, partner and beneficiaries’ (ex: TOR, MOU, attendance sheets, minutes of meetings, evaluations, beneficiaries’ files, reports, pictures etc..);• Participate in the community center management meetings on monthly basis About youTo be successful in this role you must have University degree; preferably related to social work Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience and experience in managing community centers and development projects or community mobilization. Ideally you will also have previous experience in the emergency field. We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant contract till end of December 2015, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from July 2015, willing and able to work in Akkar.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
