Community Development Center Assistant (Lebanese National Staff Only)

We are looking for a highly qualified who can fit the position of Community Development Center Assistant in Kobayat Akkar.    Who are we?  DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.  DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.  For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.ngo   About the job  Responsible for the day to day running of the centre’s activities and supervision of the centre’s staff Duties  • Conduct FGDs and fill out questionnaires with beneficiaries to assess POC’s needs and interests;  • Develop, plan and organize courses and activities responding to the beneficiaries’ needs;   • Supervise and monitor all the Community Development Centre activities,   • Attend the activities, trainings and courses to evaluate the performance of the trainers and the satisfaction of the    beneficiaries;   • Recruit beneficiaries for the different courses, trainings and activities (50% Lebanese and 50% Syrians);   • Conduct monthly coordination meetings with the Community Development Centre staff and volunteers;   • Assess sector procurement needs in collaboration with the Community Development Centre officer;  • Organize administrative/financial/logistics matters related to the center activity  • Organize and ensure a timely, proper written weekly reporting and report daily if needed on problems faced; About you  To be successful in this role you must have University degree preferably in social field and minimum 2 years experience in similar field work; Experience in managing community centers and development projects or community mobilization  Ideally you will also have Masters degree and previous experience with NGO.      We offer  An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from Mid-April 2016 and be willing and able to work in Kobayat Akkar.  Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
