Community Development Manager - Tripoli

We are looking for highly qualified candidates to apply for the position ofCommunity Development Manager - Tripoli, to support its activities under the project "Emergency Response for Displaced Syrians in Lebanon". Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dkDuties• Coordinate the timely implementation of community development activities in his/her AoR;• Supervise and monitor all the community development activities, share lessons learnt and address gaps/problems;• Ensure constant coordination with the UNHCR staff member in charge of community Services and other other partner local and international NGOs• In the commuity centers: Design and develop activities, courses, trainings etc… based on the assessment’s findings;• Recruit staff and beneficiaries’ for the community centers • Follow up on previous and ongoing Community Support Projects;• Manage a local partner in all aspects of the Community Support Project process from identification to implementation and evaluation;• Organize and conduct community based activities in the villages;• Ensure timely and supervise payments in his/her sector of responsibility;• Monitor expenditure, budgets and expenses tracking sector activities;• Prepare the weekly and monthly reports for his/her sector of responsibility report daily if needed on problems faced; About you• University degree; preferably related to social work or protection• Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience• Experience in managing community centers and development projects or community mobilization (desirable)• Experience in emergency work is a plus and Experience with INGO (advantage)• Excellent communication and interpersonal  skills• Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel…)• Well-developed organizational and planning skills• Ability to speak, read and write Arabic and English proficiently We offerAn interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant contract until the end of June, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 25 March 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals and Internationals.For Nationals, the Basic salary will be 1972 USD. As for the Internationals, this position will be placed at level A12.
