About the jobThe aim of the community empowerment and livelihood manager is to Coordinate and supervise all community empowerment and livelihood projects and activities including community support and community mobilization activities, the management of collective centres, the community centre in Jeb Jannine in West Bekaa, and the municipal support assistance program.
Duties• Coordinate the timely implementation of community empowerment and livelihood activities in his/her TOR and monitor team and respective activities/project implementation. • Organize and lead assessments and write reports (weekly, monthly, quarterly, and annually);• Maintain and improve relationship with the local actors and authorities as well as DRC partners;• Supervise the community empowerment and livelihood team and develop their capacity; • Share lessons learnt and address gaps/problems;• Conduct monthly coordination meetings with all relevant stakeholders;• Ensure constant coordination with the UNHCR staff member in charge of community Services or any other donor from within this sector. • Ensure coordination with UNHCR and other donors as well as all other concerned actors (mainly the Ministry of Social Affairs and other partner local and international NGOs); • Assess sector procurement needs, coordinate and supervise the correctness of DRC finance/admin procedures in collaboration with the head of office and Logistic/Procurement manager.• Monitor expenditure and allocated funds and budget pertinent to the sector.
About youTo be successful in this role you must have University degree; preferably related to social work and development projects , 3 years minimum experience in relevant work (managing community support projects, community centers…etc.) Experience in emergency work is a plus and experience with INGO is an advantageIdeally you will also have Master’s degree in relevant field (rural development, 5 years minimum experience in managing community support projects and mobilization activities in an emergency setting. Previous INGO work is a plus.
We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 month contract renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 15th February 2015 and be willing and able to work in Zahle.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level D1, equivalent to 2015 USD per month.
