Who are weDRC has been operating in the MENA for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. About the jobUnder the overall supervision of CSMC/CE (Collective Site Management and Coordination/ Community Empowerment) Manager and CSMC Officer in South. The CSMC Assistant will help in all DRC's CSMC operations in collective sites located in his/her area of responsibility.
Duties• Represent DRC with stakeholders in the field and Collective Sites residents.• Maintain regular contact with community representatives in their area of responsibilities.• Conduct assessment in order to identify needs and concerns of different population groups.• Identify gaps, problems and vulnerable cases in their area of responsibilities and report to the CSMC Officer.• Provide information to the Refugees on the services available.• Submit weekly progress reports to the CSMC Officer.• Plan Activities and organize them in accordance with the line manager and project manager.• Perform other duties as may be assigned by the CSMC Officer.
About youEssential qualifications:• Complete secondary education.• Excellent English and Arabic skills (written and spoken) mandatory.Essential experience:• Experience of participation in community based organization or volunteering or social work. • Experience in community mobilization and/or coordination and/or information management.• Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, other national/ international institutions.• Knowledge of UN and NGO mandates and programs in the humanitarian responses an advantage.
We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract till 31st of December 2015. You must be available to start work upon request and be willing and able to work in South Lebanon.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1 with basic salary 1204 USD.
