Database Developer

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as a Database Developer. Who are weDRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Study current sources of information and tracking tools related to DRC sectors/offices, incorporating ideas and amendments from internal stakeholders and the M&E/DB Coordinators; • Gather all relevant data currently located in different databases/software programs and ensure accurate inputting of data archive from various sources into the database; • Work with the M&E/DB Coordinators to develop and maintain a user-friendly interface for the database; • Develop, test and validate the database queries and data sheets in consultation with the M&E/DB Coordinators; • Migration plan for all data from current Excel sheets, databases and systems into the new database;• Test the functionality of the database; • Finalize and complete the system; • Develop training package for DRC staff on the use of the database; • Develop and maintain documentation database/design documentation and operating manual on use of the database; • Maintain strict confidentiality in all aspects of the work. About you• Minimum of 5 years work experience in database design or database administration;• Extensive experience programming FileMaker databases; • Data management and data analysis, significant experience in understanding the analysis of data and producing reports; • Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL; • Ability to design the structure of the database and design appropriate interfaces for data entry and ensure data quality and security;• Experience in training internal stakeholders in the use of database;• Experience in writing and maintaining database documentation and operating manuals; • Maturity and professional ability to handle sensitive information and ability to respect the confidentiality of such information while working with DRC-ECHO Newcomers Project and even after the contract ends; We offerAn interesting Consultancy in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a One month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from April 2015 and be willing and able to work in Beirut.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National and Expatriates staff.
