Deputy Head Of Program

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate who has the skills to engage in our organization as a Deputy Head of Program. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. Since May 2011, DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North, East (Bekaa valley) and South of Lebanon. The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution, Protection, Shelter and livelihood support. As such, DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR, UNICEF, WFP, ECHO and DANIDA, For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Co-ordinate and oversee the Lebanon office implementation of a 2-country project (Lebanon and Jordan) aimed at securing a professional processing of a large number of extended interviews with refugee individuals and families. This Project will be divided into a Preparatory phase (Organize in Lebanon the minimum set-up before project launch, prepare and run the pilot phase of the project, and ensure a start-up of the project over summer 2015 is based on documented learning from the pilot phase) and Implementation and completion phase (ensure timely implementation of the project, manage all aspects of the project; HR, finance,…, responsible for weekly, monthly and  quarterly reports, represent DRC at country level if requested, participate in country strategic reviews, linking with the project itself and any potential future program developments of similar nature). • He/she has the key responsibility for developing, consolidating, strengthening and monitoring the partnership with local associations and other national stakeholders, ensuring accountability, capacity building and coherence in partnership development• Work with the Head of Programme (HoP) on providing input on the strategic direction of program within the context of Lebanon and support the identification of opportunities • Support the HoP in establishing policies and practices to ensure sound management and staff oversight,• Support in providing intensive support to all staff, overseeing capacity building needs and ensuring quality implementation and partner management• Support the integration of technical inputs, vision, conceptualization of the strategy, and annual planning into day-to-day programming activities, the development of the annual planning process and project activities; including preparation of proposals, work plans, budgets and progress reports with realistic and achievable timelines.• Participate to working groups and other coordination meetings in Beirut as required;• Ensure a correct flow of information collected between Beirut and the field offices (disseminate guidelines, SoPs etc.) About youTo be successful in this role you must have a relevant university degree (post graduate degree preferred); a significant experience in project management is essential; a minimum of 4 years of work experience in project formulation, implementation, coordination and/or management in complex environments; Direct operational experience in conflict-affected or post-conflict countries and/or broad knowledge of themes relevant to conflict and/or post-conflict is a strong advantage; Excellent Arabic andEnglish spoken & written skills; Previous experience with DRC an asset.
