Deputy Head Of Program

Danish Refugee Council is advertising for an experienced and capable Deputy Head of Program, who is able to undertake the responsibility of the  program multi-sectorial planning, reporting, and implementation of the Community Developement activites. He/she will also be responsible for deputizing the Head of Program in managing the overall DRC Lebanon program. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.Since May 2011 , DRC has been actively involved in  the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North , East (Bekaa valley ) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution, Protection , Shelter and livelihood support . As such , DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR , UNICEF , WFP , ECHO and DANIDA , implying a rapid expansion of its program and structure. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Dutiesa) He/she has the key responsibility for ensuring the implementation of the DRC Community Empowerment and CSMC Programme Strategy based upon needs, capacities and priorities chosen in coordination with the Head of programme.b) He/she has the key responsibility for ensuring of smooth DRC transition into the stabilisation phase based upon  assessment of the context, needs, capacities and priorities in coordination with the Head of programme, by ensuring that insuring that proper resources are allocated in close consultation with relevant departments, such as Logistics, Finance, Administration, Human Resources, Safetyc) Support in the programme fundraising with the Head of programme and Head of Grants and Communication;d) Closely coordinate with the Head of Program Quality on monitoring/evaluation, data analysis, accountability and compliance,e) Has the responsibility to supervise and endorse relevant financial and narrative reporting on CEL and CSMC programme related interventions in Lebanon,f) Act as the DFID project internal and external grant focal point by: Centralizing internal and external communications related to the project and its technical sectors, Coordinating and supervising the project in terms of  activities and resources (including finance); Leading the project proposal, amendment processes and reviews reporting; and ensuring and accurate and updated overview concerning budget and implementation status follow up alerting of risks and gaps.g) Act as the formal interlocuteur with the DFID  focal point in Beirut.h) Maintains contact with relevant partners and donors to ensure a relevant and efficient programme planning and implementation. About youTo be successful in this role you must have a relevant university degree (post graduate degree preferred); a significant experience in community development or local governance is essential; a minimum of 6 years of work experience in project formulation, implementation, coordination and/or management in complex environments; Direct operational experience in conflict-affected or post-conflict countries and/or broad knowledge of themes relevant to conflict and/or post-conflict is a strong advantage; Excellent English spoken & written skills; We offerAn interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world.
