We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as an Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan Consultancy. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.Since May 2011 , DRC has been actively involved in  the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North , East (Bekaa valley ) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution, Protection , Shelter and livelihood support . As such , DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR , UNICEF , WFP , ECHO and DANIDA , implying a rapid expansion of its program and structure. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• To support the development of EPRP operational policies and protocols for DRC Lebanon under the supervision of the DRC Lebanon DFID Focal Point• To support the development of EPRP operational policies and protocols for the selected municipalities in the 5 field operational offices under the supervision of the DRC Lebanon DFID Focal point• To write up all operational policies (guidelines) related to the EPRP• To write up all SOPs related to the EPRP • To train the municipality staff in the DRC Emergency Preparedness and Response Plan adapted to reflect each local context• To prepare a follow up strategy and conduct follow up visits during the course of 2015 as discussed and agreed with the DRC Lebanon Focal Point About you• Advanced University degree in disciplines such as social science, or similar with at least 7 years of work experience in relief of development context, or a similar field;   • Significant experience in overseas deployment in insecure and volatile environment• Have a proven track record of at least 7-10 years in Emergency Response (Natural Disaster) and Complex Emergencies  • Proven track record in developing policy documentations and operational tools for Emergency Response• Outstanding skills in English Writing • Self-motivated, ability to work with minimum supervision We offerAn interesting consultancy position in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 weeks contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from January 2015 and be willing and able to work in Beirut with frequent travel.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates; Salary scale is set based on the qualifications.
