Emergency Response Officer - South

For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job Under the overall supervision of  the South Head of Office and the direct supervision of the Emergency Response Manager in South, the successful candidate will be responsible for the timely and effective emergency response assistance to the newcomer families and the regular update and follow up on the DRC contingency planning in his/her AoR.   Duties Supervision & capacity building of the field emergency response team: Preparing, monitoring and evaluating the Emergency Response Assistants activities and their daily chores  Assign ERAs tasks on a daily basis before heading to the field Archiving all the documents relevant to the team’s activities Organize weekly visits to the field and to our local connections in order to maintain good relations Coordination on newcomers at field level with international and local partners & capacity building of partners Follow up on the activities related to the newcomer program implemented by partners; namely the provision of non-food assistance and the distribution. About you To be successful in this role you must have a)      University  degree, preferably related to social work b)      Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience, preferably NGO experience c)      Experience in emergency work d)      Excellent interpersonal skills e)      Ability to lead and manage groups f)       Well-developed organizational and planning skills   We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a six month contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work asap and be willing and able to work in South. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
