Emergency Response Officer - Zahle

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to Manage and monitor the daily work and needs of a team of Emergency Response Assistants and a team of Psycho-Social Support Assistants. Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade , running a combination of livelihood , protection ,advocacy and relief projects .DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria , Tunisia/Libya , Turkey , and both a country and regional office in Jordan .Since May 2011 , DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North , East (Bekaa valley ) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors :Food /NFI distribution , Protection , Shelter and livelihood support . As such , DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR , UNICEF , WFP , ECHO and DANIDA , implying a rapid expansion of its programme and structure. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job You will lead a team of PSS As and ERAs, planning their daily tasks, reporting to the line manager and giving field backup to the team. Duties Preparing, monitoring and evaluating the Emergency Response Assistants and Psycho-Social Support Assistantsactivities and their daily chores Set up thecentralized assessment plan for the ERAs and assign their tasks on a daily basis before heading to the field Supervisingboth teams providing coaching and support Archivingall the documents relevant to the team’s activities Keep track of the Android devices and help fix all difficulties related to the assessment Communicate with the local partners, municipalities and local authorities in order to get the newcomers lists registered in each village and facilitate our ERAs daily duty calls throughout the area Collaborate with the local Focal Points Plan the protection home visits of the PSSAs. Write an appraisal report on the Assessment process (achievements, statistics, challenges, recommendations etc…) Provide relevant input for daily, weekly and monthly reports Report to the ERM daily. About you To be successful in this role you must have a University Degree (Bachelor Degree) , in Psychology, Social Sciences or Humanitarian attribute, in addition to a previous experience as an Officer or at least a team leader for a year with any local or international NGO. Ideally you will also have a bachelor of Human rights and a Social Worker for 1 year. We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract till 31st December 2014, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
