Finance Assistant

We are looking for a highly qualified individual with a mind set to achieve success in a humanitarian organization working in a challenging but interesting environment. Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assistance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Daily accounting (bookkeeping) according to DRC financial handbook• Prepare and submit monthly ledgers to the Finance Officer• Manage office's petty cash• Prepare monthly cash counts• Follow up on all the advances given to DRC employees and ensure all them are closed by month end. (Except justified cases).• Maintain proper filing of all financial documents (vouchers, contracts, tender documents, etc.)• Cash box counting according to DRC financial handbook• Per Diem account for the staff when needed• Review scanning office financial documents on a monthly basis and other office work as per instructions. About youTo be successful in this role you must have:• University degree in Accounting/Finance or related major • 2 years NGO experience • Minimum of 3 years' relevant working experience• Good computer skills (Power Point, Excel, Word)• Accuracy and reliability• Proven ability to work under pressure and meeting deadlines• Personal commitment, flexibility, efficiency• Well-developed organizational and planning skills• Self-motivation and strong team spirit • Ability to speak, read and write Arabic (Native Arabic speaker) and English  We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract with 3 months probation period, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from July 2015 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli-Lebanon.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
