Who are weThe Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. Duties Support GBV caseworkers through the provision of technical guidance. Ensure that staff implement and respect best-practice and international standards; Monitor the implementation of the gender-based violence information management system (GBV IMS) and compile/analyze data in the incident recorder in compliance with the information sharing protocol developed at the inter-agency level; Support GBV Officer in the submission of internal and donors reports; Oversee case management (including follow up on referrals and action plans) and support services provided to GBV survivors (awareness sessions, emotional support sessions) in safe spaces;
About youTo be successful in this role you must have • Bachelor/Degree in Social work, Counseling, psychology or other related field; • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times• At least 3-4 years of experience in counseling survivors of GBV or vulnerable women and girlsIdeally you will also have • Master degrees in related fields• Previous experience with humanitarian organizations
We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 2014 and be willing and able to work in Akkar area.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. Basic Salary: USD 1,460 per month (basic).
