We are looking for a highly qualified Analyst to conduct quantitative and qualitative analysis of Protection Monitoring data.
Who are we
The Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis.

About the job
The Analyst (Protection) will be responsible for collecting, analyzing, reporting and sharing protection data related to DRC protection monitoring. In addition, the Analyst will support the reporting and analysis of DRC protection programs’ achievements through donors’ reporting and monitoring and evaluation data at national and field level
Duties
1) Protection monitoring data collection, analysis, reporting and sharing (60%)
• Data compilation and analysis
• Regularly extract and analyze protection data collected by the protection monitoring teams on tablets
• Analyze relevant protection data collected by other sectors when needed (CSMC, CEL)
• Maintain an up-to-date protection database with accurate information on protection concerns identified by Protection monitoring teams;
• Reporting
• Review and translate protection monitoring data collected by Protection Assistants into analysis format on weekly basis;
• Follow up with mobile teams of Protection assistants to ensure that data is being shared and reported in due time;
• Train and support teams to produce weekly basic data analysis and monthly trends analysis on protection concerns, provide quality assurance of these reports;
• Produce high quality quarterly protection reports and regular thematic protection reports for internal and external dissemination;
• Information management technical support
• Provide technical support to Protection assistants and officer regarding the use of digital data entry and analysis tools;
• Provide trainings and on-the-job coaching on data collection and analysis to Protection Monitoring/MEL staff;
• Coordination
• Attend PWG and sub-groups along with the Protection Managers/coordinator when requested to;
• Provide briefings on protection monitoring findings and trends to relevant staff/donors/WG as requested;
• When relevant, attend field-level Information Management Working Group.

About you
To be successful in this role you must have
• Undergraduate degree in international relief and development, social sciences, public health, statistics/research methods, or related/relevant fields;
• Strong knowledge of monitoring and analysis techniques – quantitative and qualitative – and their application in humanitarian Protection programming;
• Familiarity and field experience applying principles and approaches to monitoring, analysis, and evaluation in humanitarian and emergency Protection contexts using both quantitative and qualitative methods;
• Experience working with International NGOs, UN agencies, line ministries and/or local authorities in migrants/refugee settings in complex emergencies;
• Experience with capacity building of staff, and in convening and facilitating trainings and workshops;
• Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to establish effective and working relations with local staff and other stakeholders.
• Experience preparing analytical or learning reports (not donor), particularly analysis of programmes and contextual issues.
• Experience of working on logframes and indicator tracking;
• IM and statistics software capacities;
• Languages: Fluency in English and Arabic (written and verbal) required;

Ideally you will also have
• Advanced postgraduate degree in international relief and development, social sciences, public health, statistics/research methods, or related fields
• Experience in participatory assessment and community-based monitoring approaches.
We offer
An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until end of April 2018, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from July 2017 and be willing and able to work in Beirut with regular trips to the field.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level D+, equivalent to 2472 USD per month.
