The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon and the Bekaa, since May 2011. Assistance is provided through the distribution of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of IT and Data Management Officer, to support its activities under the project "Emergency Response for Displaced Syrians in the Bekaa" in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). The Data Management Officer reports  to the Project Manager responsible for the activities in the north and the Bekaa.   Responsibilities: Collate and maintain data on service providers, referral and networking opportunities. Develop and manage database of confidential information, inputting data related to special needs requests and responses. Provide IT assistance and hardware and software troubleshooting to DRC staff and infrastructure Provide training and advice on the use of electronic database systems developed. Produce statistical analysis and reports on request relating to the above information. Carry out research and information gathering on topics of relevance to projects, as needed. Assist with project field monitoring, as required. Attend relevant coordination meetings, as requested. Other tasks, as requested by Project Manager(s), Programme Manager and Country Director. Qualifications: Relevant university degree At least 3 years of experience in IT and database management systems (MySQL, MS ACCESS and MSSQL) Strong background/experience in quantitative and qualitative analysis Demonstrated skills in PC troubleshooting, software and hardware support, networking, data backup, creating data entry forms and generating database reports Strong attention to detail with good organisational skills NGO experience and knowledge of human rights and protection issues preferred Excellent communication skills in Arabic and English - Able to fluently and accurately translate between Arabic and English Willingness to travel throughout Lebanon. Willingness to work long hours and meet strict deadlines, as needed Conditions:DRC offers a competitive local salary and benefits package.
