Who are weDRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. About the jobTo take a lead in managing Cash for Rent/Shelter, Child Protection and Protection Monitoring activities.
Duties• To receive cases from PSN (People with Specific Needs) Unit;• To verify eligibility of applicants in terms of house visit and reject or include them in Cash for Rent/Shelter program;• To coordinate DRC CP activities with UNHCR, UNICEF and other stakeholders of CP sector in close collaboration with CP Officer; • To give a guidance and provide supervision of daily activities in the field and in the office of Protection Team of CP Officer, CP Senior Case Worker, CP Case Workers, CP Assistants and CP Animators; • To coordinate DRC Protection Monitoring activities with UNHCR and other stakeholders of Protection Monitoring Sector; • To give a guidance and provide supervision of daily activities in the field and in the office of Protection Monitoring Assistants;• Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Protection Manager.
About youTo be successful in this role you must have Masters in Economics, Social Sciences or relevant University degree and 5 years of work experience with humanitarian aid organizations in cash assistance and protection fields in junior managerial level;Ideally you will also have Work experience in MENA region and Ability to work in hostile area and to cope with the stress.
We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 2 month Consultancy contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from July 2014 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli-Lebanon.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for International Consultants.
