Livelihoods Assistant

About the job 

The role of the Livelihood Assistant is to provide support to all livelihood projects.  He/She will mainly assist in conducting outreach, interviewing and registering project beneficiaries, offering information on project services, and following up with beneficiaries during their enrollment or for referrals to external service providers. 

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:

• Offer general information on the Livelihoods Employment Center and its services and respond to inquiries. 

• Outreach and identify vulnerable Lebanese and Syrians who are interested in gaining new skills and work experience. 

•  Participate in the identification of new outreach methods for the beneficiaries / employers, visit employers, NGOs, vocational training providers MSMEs and business support services to explain the role and services of the DRC Employment Center and obtain job vacancies and refer jobseekers on a weekly basis. 

• Interview job seekers and register them for trainings and work based learning opportunities using appropriate forms or the computer database to record individual profiles, occupational codes and client group categories; 

• Assist in the data collection on the local labor market and enter collected information on Job Vacancies, Training opportunities and self-employment support programs into the database.  

• Deliver Counseling services to beneficiaries by offering employment and educational orientation after having identified their existing and required skills and therefore refer them to the relevant service. 

• Conduct Soft skills/ Life skills classes and awareness sessions (decent work conditions, gender equality and protection basics) 

• Supervise trainings and classes through collecting attendance sheets, executing spot checks, following up with beneficiaries to set the schedule under the supervision of the Livelihood Officer. 

• Follow up on Work based learning placements quality by conducting regular spot checks, evaluations, and capacity building plan implementation.​

About you 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a High School diploma or fresh graduate

Moreover, we also expect the following:

Required  

• 1-year work or volunteer experience in the field of livelihoods, social sciences, or education is essential; preferably in Tripoli area 

• Basic computer literacy skills ​

Desirable 

• Bachelor University preferably related to international development, economics, business, education or social sciences  

• Previous experience with INGOs or local NGOS preferably in Livelihood, Food Security or related sectors​

We offer 

  • Contract length: until 31 December 2019 
  • Band:  I Level 1 
  • Monthly Basic Salary: 2,035,125 LBP 
  • Duty Station: Tripoli 
  • Start date: April 2019​
