Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly qualified who can fit the position of Livelihoods Assistant in Akkar.
About the job
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
• Actively participate in the implementation of the livelihoods activities in Akkar in a way that ensures coherence between planned activities and commitments outlined in projects proposals.
• Organize trainings as needed, including identifying venues, inviting participants, and assisting with developing the agenda.
• In conjunction with the Livelihoods Officer and other key stakeholders (possibly including external consultants), carry out trainings on key issues and topics, including (but not limited to): life skills, financial literacy, entrepreneurship, etc.
• Work closely with staff from DRC’s Housing and Infrastructure team (and other DRC teams as needed) to ensure timely completion of integrated components of the project, such as Community Support Projects (CSPs) and with DRC staff and consultants regarding the implementation of projects related to agriculture, landscaping, and reforestation.
• Assist with monitoring, evaluating, and reporting on project activities, as well as reportingissues and constraints arising from project implementation,as requested by the Livelihoods Officer or Area Cash and Livelihoods Manager.
• Assist in conducting market assessment of the areas of intervention and determining program intervention priorities based on needs and existing resources.
• Ensure that the purchased supplies are tracked and used properly by the beneficiaries, workers and municipalities on field.
• Assist the Livelihood Officer during the site and municipality visits and maintain good relationshipsand coordination with local stakeholders and authorities.
• Any other task relevant to the position and as requested by theLivelihoods Officer, Area Manager, or Senior Management Team
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to work on the day-to-day implementation of the activities implemented in the field and will ensure that all assigned tasks are completed in a timely manner and are of the highest quality possible. The Livelihoods Assistantwill be based in Akkar as a member of the Cash and Livelihoods department. The LivelihoodsAssistantwill be under the direct supervision of the Livelihoods Officer, who is also directly working under the Area Cash and Livelihoods Manager, and will play a key role in implementing various Livelihoods programs in Akkar.
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
• A minimum of a Bachelor University degree; preferably related to international development, economics, and/or business
• 1-2years of minimum experience with INGOs, preferably in Livelihoods, Cash, or related sectors, which would include experience with one or more the following activities:
o Implementation of skills development and employability trainings programs
o Implementation of Cash for Work Projects integrated in Community Support Projects
o Cash delivery mechanism and modalities
o Conducting market assessments
o Community mobilization
o Training and facilitation for staff and community groups
Desirable
• Familiarity with the agriculture, forestry, or landscaping sectors. 1-2 years of experience preferred.

Contract length: till the end of December 2017
Level: B, equivalent to 1250$ (monthly basic salary)
