Livelihoods Coordinator

About the job

The role has a country focus and provides support and/or technical guidance to country operations while overseeing country activities. The Programme Support Coordinator (Livelihoods) will guide DRC’s strategic positioning, technical development and quality implementation of livelihoods programmes. S/he will ensure the programme is delivered to a high quality in line with DRC’s, donors and international standards. S/he will ensure good coordination with other actors in the sector and between DRC’s programmatic sector teams.  ​

Your main duties and responsibilities will be:​

Programme development, management and reporting  

• Lead on the technical design of concept notes and proposals on livelihoods and to a smaller extent basic assistance in collaboration with the Grants Specialist and Head of Programmes.  

• Support identification and development of strategic partnerships on livelihoods; 

• Provide technical inputs and quality assurance of interim and final project reports on coordination with Grants team; 

Technical support 

• Lead on and ensure the effective implementation of DRC’s Livelihoods strategy, approaches and SOPs, including to a smaller extent basic assistance; Contribute to country strategy planning 

• identifying research and missing evidence needed to inform programme design and quality 

• Ensure risk assessments and mitigation measures related to livelihoods and basic assistance programming are completed; 

Capacity Building 

• Capacity assessments of staff in areas of livelihoods and basic assistance; 

• Support capacity assessments of partners; 

External representation and coordination 

• Support in strengthening the liaison with key stakeholders in the livelihood sector; 

• Support in harmonization of approaches in livelihoods programming across field sites; 

• Participate in Technical Working Group of the upcoming consortium once funding is secured; 

• Provide briefings for donors and stakeholders as needed. 

M&E 

• Work closely with M&E teams to develop and implement ethical and safe monitoring and evaluation tools and mechanisms, including qualitative data collection and analysis; ​

About you 

To be successful in this role we expect you to have a University degree in economics, international relations or related discipline required. Advanced degree such as Masters, Post Graduate or MBA advantageous.  ​

Moreover, we also expect the following:​

Required  

• Minimum 3 to 5 years of experience in management of livelihoods/economic recovery sectors with INGOs or UN agencies 

• Experience in programme development, proposal writing, coordination, technical management and capacity building of organization staff and partners. 

• Experience working with displaced communities such as refugees and/or IDPs  

• Experience in working with local and international partners, local/government authorities, and donor guidelines. 

• Experience working with large teams in a dynamic environment. 

• Strong level of computer literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and Power point);  

• Full proficiency in spoken and written English required.  

Desirable 

• Experience in Lebanon and/or the Middle-East is advantageous. 

• Experience working with protection teams a plus 

• Knowledge of protection activities including Gender and Sexual Based Violence, Child Protection and Persons with Specific Needs a plus 

• Proficiency in Arabic is an advantage​

We offer 

  • Contract length: 12 months 
  • Level:  Band G level 1 
  • Duty Station: Beirut, Lebanon 
  • Start date: May 2019​
