Who are we?
Danish refugee council has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

About the job
Manage the day-to-day implementation of the EU MADAD-funded livelihoods project, implemented by DRC in Tripoli and Mount Lebanon as a part of the LEADERS consortium that aims to contribute to the economic self-reliance, resilience and social stability of displacement-affected populations. The Project Manager will oversee the provision of job counseling, vocational and life skills trainings, apprenticeships, and Cash for Work/Community Service Projects (CSPs), ensuring that all programme elements are delivered to a high quality in line with DRC’s, donors, and international standards.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Actively lead the day-to-day implementation of the MADAD project in Tripoli in a way that ensures coherence between planned activities and commitments outlined in project proposal
• Develop project work plans, revising periodically, and oversee the progress of achievements
• Manage the budget, in collaboration with the Area Cash and Livelihoods Manager, to ensure timely and appropriate grant expenditure
• Proactively identify program-related risks, supporting the identification and definition of mitigation measures.
• Prepare capacity building plans for project team members and participate when required in designing technical capacity building plans for DRC local partners
• Ensure regular follow up with consortium partners and other external stakeholders to monitor progress and to ensure activities are delivered according to DRC and donor standards
• Participate in the North-level working groups on livelihoods, basic assistance, and other fora, if requested.
• Provide updates and information to the Technical Management Unit (TMU) of LEADERS Consortium on a monthly basis, or as otherwise requested
• Coordinate with Cash and Livelihoods Coordinator (as needed) and other colleagues in DRC offices implementing similar projects to share learning and harmonize tools

Required qualifications
• Bachelor’s Degree in economics, human resources, international development etc.
• 3-5 years of experience managing Livelihoods projects
• Proven experience in programming involving employability, job counseling, vocational training, and/or Cash for Work.
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
• Commitment to and understanding of DRC’s aims, values, and principles
Desirable qualifications
“Ideally, you will also have:
• Experience with working with INGOs highly preferred
We offer
DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until the end of December 2017, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from the first of July 2017 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli office.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Expatriates and Nationals; please refer to www.drc.ngo under Vacancies. This position will be placed at level D1 equivalent to 2,100 USD.
