DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. About the jobThe operational capacity building consultant has the overall responsibility to build the operational capacity of DRC’s local CBO responsible for managing and operating the women resource centers; These include:• Conduct a needs assessment of the local CBO responsible for managing and operating the women resource centers• Develop a training plan with strategies and approaches to build effective and efficient internal systems and structures (management, communication, reporting, management styles and techniques, human resources, finance, procurement, M&E, etc);• Deliver a training on Organizational Capacity Building to the organization’s staff and management and/or further on-the-job coaching;• Produce a brief report on the capacity building of the CBO, including an assessment on the level of knowledge acquired during the trainings and on-the-job coaching through a preset M&E framework;• Deliver an operational capacity building toolkit, with various operational capacity building modules;
Duties• The consultant will be in charge of reviewing DRC’s internal tools related to partnership and capacity building (i.e. DRC’s capacity building toolkit, partnership strategy, etc.); • Review other existing operational capacity building modules available in Lebanon and MENA region; • Hold consultations with CBO’s key staff responsible for managing and operating the women resource centers at the field level; • Conduct consultations with CBO’s management at national level; • Conduct consultations with DRC’s staff involved in the technical capacity building process at both field and national levels • Conduct consultations with DRC’s support staff involved in the development of DRC’s partnership strategy (i.e. CEL and Protection sector coordinators, HOFA, Head of Programs, Head of Operations, etc.) • Conduct a capacity assessment of the CBO, focused on sevreal areas of intervention, such as strategic Management and planning, project cycle management, human resource Management, etc. • Draft a report with the main findings and recommendations identified at the assessment phase
About youTo be successful in this role you must have:• Master’s Degree in Community Development, Sustainable Development, Social work, Public Administration, Or Any Other Relevant Field;• Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; • Computer Literacy (Microsoft Word, Excel and Powerpoint)• Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.• Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well.• Flexibility in working overtime when needed;
We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 30 days consultancy contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance.
