Photography Consultant

Danish Refugee Council, one of the world’s leading humanitarian NGOs, is currently looking for a highly experienced Photography Consultant, to produce high quality photos related to our activities in the Humanitarian sector. About the job  The overall objective of this consultancy is to produce 150 high quality photographs that humanise the context in Lebanon, highlighting the human side of behind the figures. These products will be further used in a photo exhibition, organised by DRC Lebanon, which aims to improve DRC’s brand positioning with the donor community and local authorities within Lebanon.   The consultant will be responsible to produce the photographs, identify key opportunities within the DRC focus areas and themes, write captions, and edit the final photos. The consultant selected for this assignment in coordination with the DRC team will perform the following indicative tasks:     • Five days of field work to different DRC locations;  • Seeking out appropriate photographic subjects and opportunities;  • Carrying out research and preparation for a shoot, including discussion and meetings with the DRC team in Beirut and field as required;  • Use an extensive range of technical equipment, including cameras, lenses, lighting and specialist software as appropriate. The consultant will have to provide those equipments;  • Arrange still life objects, products, scenes, props, and backgrounds as needed;  • Working hours during field days can be long and unpredictable, led by demand;   • Perform appropriate short interviews with DRC staff, beneficiaries and stakeholders;  • Follow the DRC brand guidelines including colours, fonts and correct use of logos; and  • Ensure all information are sourced, documented, and cited properly   Deliverables:  • 150 high quality photographs captioned: what, when, how, who, why, and how. In two copies:  - Raw format  - Edited and compressed (preferably JPEG)  • A photo-story (at least 10 photos), highlighting a subject and/or a story to be identified by DRC and the consultant.   About you  To be successful in this role we expect you to have minimum of 5 years experience in relevant field. Moreover, we also expect the following:   Required   • Bachelors degree in Photography, graphic design or any related discipline  • Fluency in English is a must.
