The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves.
DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of Project Coordinator – Saida area to support its activities under the project "Empowerment of Women at Risk in Lebanon", funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC).
The purpose of this 15 months project is to empower women at risk and/or victims of SGBV by prevention and a protection-oriented response based on livelihood support. It will help promoting economic and personal self-reliance of 300 vulnerable women and raise awareness of duty-bearers about SGBV and human trafficking. The project’s outputs are as follows:
Advocacy on violence against women towards survivors’ communities.
Assistance to 200 women at risk through a holistic package of support services delivered in a newly established centre in Saida.
Coordination and capacity building of local NGOs delivering services to domestic migrant workers.
The Saida Project Coordinator will assist local NGO partners to identify and refer women at risk and/or victim of SGBV to the newly established project’s “Women’s Center” and to ensure that women individual cases are properly assessed and managed, using the center internal and external resources, as needed. The Project Coordinator will assist in the implementation of the advocacy campaign on violence against women.
Key responsibilities:
Activities - Ensure timely and quality implementation of the project activities.- Prepare the action plan for the project’s activities.- Lead the awareness initiative campaign on violence against women in Saida area:o Mobilize resources.o Establish network and local contacts.o Negotiate with potential campaign partners (example; schools or NGOs).o Support partners in implementing the campaign and monitor the campaign activities.- Lead the center launching and implementation activities:o Lead the capacity building of 9 partners empowering vulnerable women in Saida (equipment and training).o Team building activities o Lead the Equipping and rehabilitation of the newly established women’s center. o Develop and implement a joint strategy with local NGOs as to the criteria selection, and referral of women at risk and/or victim of SGBV to the newly established women center. o Supervise, monitor and follow-up on the “Women’s Center” work and activities, providing coaching and support as needed. o Develop a referral mechanism for the project’s beneficiaries with relevant resources.o Monitoring and follow- up on the work of partner NGOs providing coaching and support.o Lead the selection process of the Women’s center employees (Center Manager, Counselors, administration-finance officer, kindergarten officers, legal advisor, psychologist, vocational trainers, etc.). o Prepare the center monthly narrative and financial reports with the assistance of the center’s manager. o Organize and chair and Women’s Center’s administration and staff meetings. o Set the center’s services standards and accountability mechanisms.- Organize and chair meetings with partners NGOs.- Supervise the “market study” in Saida area (developing TORs, coordination, logistics, facilitating contacts with relevant ) - Lead the preparation of the final ceremony of for the vocational trained women.- Manage the information and data related to the project’s activities.
Reporting - Report back verbally as often as needed to the Project Manager on the progress of the work. - Prepare monthly report projects activities.- Assist in the preparation of donor and other reports.
Coordination- Coordinate with relevant stakeholders. - Coordinate and work closely with wider DRC team project. - Attend meetings with all local and international NGOs working in the area. - Develop contacts and network with other women’s service providers
Other - Other tasks as requested by the Project Manager or Programme Manager
Competencies:Knowledge and understanding of concepts and approaches relevant to protection, mental health, women at risk and SGVB.

Qualifications & Experience:
University degree
Minimum 4 years of work experience in any related psychosocial fields (social services, public health, service delivery, and protection) or any other related field.
NGO experience
Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills
