The Protection Assistant will conduct outreach, sensitization sessions and recreational events, and provide individual protection assistance to persons with specific needs.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
• Conduct outreach to identify persons with protection needs, prioritizing the most vulnerable and difficult to identify, conduct sensitization and awareness raising sessions on key protection issues based on identified needs for children and caregivers.
• Prepare and conduct recreational activities and community events for children and caregivers in coordination with other DRC departments
• Identify and refer persons with specific needs to appropriate services in line with safe identification and referral principles, collect information, update and maintain a service mapping and referral pathway at community level
• Provide individual protection assistance to Persons with Specific Needs (PWSN) focusing on: older persons at risk, women at risk (excluding GBV survivors), children at risk (excluding child protection violations) and persons with disabilities.
• Provide cash for protection to eligible individuals, set a clear protection objective and follow-up on the impact of assistance.
• Regularly record, track and follow-up on referrals using the Referral Information Management System (RIMS).
• Collect, store, maintain and analyze protection data produced through outreach, community consultation, RIMS, individual protection and cash assistance in line with safe and ethical information management principles.
• Draft individual workplan and participate in regular supervision, information sharing and coordination meetings with the Protection Officer and Team Leader.
• Support the mainstreaming of protection principles to DRC’s program, including partners and local community.
• Coordinate with the Livelihood sector to reach beneficiaries accessing DRC Livelihood Employment Center in Tripoli, ensure weekly presence in DRC’s Livelihood Employment and establish a protection desk for the provision of protection-related information and referrals
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have a Bachelor Degree. Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
• 1 to 2 years of experience in case management or individual protection assistance to PWSN
• 1 to 2 years of experience conducting outreach, information sessions, providing cash for protection and safe identification and referral
• Previous experience working with children and caregivers
• Excellent facilitation and sensitization skills, good understanding of key protection issues in Lebanon
• Knowledge of and commitment to principles of confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination, safety and inclusion
• Excellent communication and psychosocial first aid skills
Desirable
• Previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings
• Ability to communicate and write clearly in English

We offer
- Contract length: until 31 December 2019
- Band: I, Level, 1
- Monthly Basic Salary: 1350 USD (depending on years of experience)
