About the job
Under the supervision of the Protection Officer (Community Engagement) Officer, the Protection Assistant (Community Engagement) will be responsible for running and supervising the day to day activities of the CDC including community support and community mobilization activities related to solidarity initiatives related to community centers in Tripoli, North Lebanon.
Your main duties and responsibilities will be:
• Conduct FGDs and fill out questionnaires with beneficiaries to assess POC’s needs and interests;
• Develop, plan and organize courses and activities responding to the beneficiaries’ needs;
• Attend the activities, trainings and courses to evaluate the performance of the trainers and the satisfaction of the beneficiaries;
• Provide constant feedback to his/her supervisor on progress, lessons learnt, achievements, gaps, issues and problems;
• Recruit beneficiaries for the different courses, trainings and activities (50% Lebanese and 50% Syrians);
• Responsible of developing and filing all documents related to the center, partner and beneficiaries’ (ex: TOR, MOU, attendance sheets, minutes of meetings, evaluations, beneficiaries’ files, reports, pictures etc.);
• Evaluate constantly the quality of the services provided in the community development center by conducting evaluation exercises with beneficiaries, trainers, center staff and establish a proper complaints mechanism;
• Support in the identification of new neighborhood groups and CDC groups members, attend and co-facilitate them and draft minutes of meetings and reports; Support the community committees in proposing, designing and implementing solidarity initiatives and other events.
• Monitoring the implementation of Solidarity Initiatives and ensure proper consistency with initial proposal and beneficiaries target
• Facilitate awareness sessions and information dissemination sessions when needed
About you
To be successful in this role we expect you to have be a Fresh Graduate with education relevant to social work, business administration, human rights, law, social sciences or humanitarian aid
Moreover, we also expect the following:
Required
• Proven experience in undertaking community empowerment initiatives (preferably 2 years)
• Strong written and oral communication skills, reporting and planning, effective in representation and liaison with external parties, knowledge in operations such as finance, HR and procurement;
• Ability to communicate and write clearly in English
Desirable
• Experience in governance (including community empowerment, self-management, liaison with local stakeholders, conflict mitigation)

- Monthly Basic Salary: 1250 USD
