Protection Monitoring Assistant – Tripoli

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to implement and monitor programs and activities for person with specific needs and assistance of vulnerable groups. Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the job Implement and monitor programs and activities for person with specific needs and assistance of vulnerable groups   Duties Monitor protection risks and needs in areas identified in coordination with UNHCR, protection monitoring agencies and partners   Keep good relations with local implementing actors, local authorities and other international and local stakeholders   Maintain excel database to ensure that statistics and other reports are produced on a timely basis Refer serious protection cases to DRC protection or other specialized agencies for follow up and assistance Any other duties relating to the nature of the job as directed by the Protection officer or by the Protection Manager. Provide information to beneficiaries relating to service provision in Area of responsibility, whether DRC services or services provided by other agencies; Contribute to the overall protection/CS weekly and monthly report underlining protection issues and related trends and figures in coordination with the Protection officer. About you To be successful in this role you must have High School Diploma, Strong command in English written and spoken with a minimum 2 years experience in similar field. Ideally you will also have a university degree in a related field with experience with NGO. We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 2 months  contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from 11-4-2014 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level B1, equivalent to a basic salary of 1180$ in addition to 120$ as transportation allowance per month.
