Psychosocial Support Assistant - Child Protection

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as a Psychosocial Support Assistant   Who are we DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk   Duties • Conduct mobile field information sessions 4 days per week to refugee settlement and host population areas, • Identify and refer most vulnerable identified cases as well as individuals faced with protection concerns (incl. GBV, Child protection, etc.) to relevant services; • During field visits, conduct information sessions on available services and other topics; • Identify community focal points and settlement representatives to organize and conduct protection activities and follow up • Support the development of localized committees with relevant local stakeholders (incl. municipalities, service providers, etc.) through organization of regular meetings … • Work with closely with PSS and Capacity building officers to ensure GBV/Child protection prevention and response is adequately addressed across sectors and humanitarian interventions;   About you To be successful in this role you must have Bachelor in Social work, political science, law or related field and ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times. Fluency in Arabic required. Minimum two years experience in an NGO, preferably in social or legal work.   Ideally you will also have Experience working for International NGO and Previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon We offer An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract till September 2016, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from March 2016 and be willing and able to work in Saida. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff.
