Who are we?The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world.DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006.  DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk About the jobThe PSS Officer has the overall responsibility to manage centre-based and outreach team of PSS assistants and caseworkers  in providing psychosocial support to women, men, caregivers, children and adolescent girls based on geographical coverage and to develop and coordinate the work of the youth, men and women committees. Implement and monitor psychosocial programs related to Child Protection and gender-based violence (GBV) centre-based and outreach activities Duties• Ensure UNHCR PSS components are on track, including the development of new materials for awareness-raising in coordination with the line manager and the Protection coordinator.• Liaise with local partners and communities on areas for PSS interventions – including liaison with communities on mobile activities• Assist the Protection Manager in administrative matters related to Child Protection activities;• Supervise the centre-based and mobile teams of PSS assistants in urban and rural areas;• Organize day-to-day time management and work related to mobile and centre-based PSS activities (incl. development of weekly schedule and staff work plan); • Supervise the conformation of youth, men and women committees according to DRC guidelines About you• Bachelor/Degree in Social work, political science, law or other related field;  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; • Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity and flexibility.• Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel); • Fluency in Arabic required.• Ability to communicate in English and write reports in English strongly preferred. We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a contract until 31st of December 2015, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level C1, equivalent to 1,561 USD per month.
