Psychosocial Support (Pss) Senior Training Officer – Beirut

We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as a PSS Senior Training Officer. Who are we?DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. Duties•    The Consultant will be responsible for developing a training package in Arabic language based on the methodology for DRC’s psychosocial support visits to newcomers households. The training package will cover topics such as introduction to protection, child protection and GBV; assessment, identification and referral of protection cases; delivery of Psychological First Aid (PFA); dissemination of key protection messages and information on available services.•    The Consultant will deliver this training in Arabic language in all of DRC’s offices in Lebanon. About youTo be successful in this role you must have University degree relevant to human rights: preferably in law, social sciences or humanitarian aid; Understands rights and protection issues of children, familiar with MHPSS; At least 5 years of proven experience in Child Protection and MHPSS; Working experience in conflict affected and fragile states in (emergency) psychosocial support projects.Ideally you will also have significant knowledge of International Human Rights Law, with stress on Refugee Law and Previous experience with UNICEF or implementing emergency programs for UNICEF We offerAn interesting job in one of the best NGO’s in the world. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 5 weeks consultancy contract, renewable as an employment contract depending on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from June 2014 and be willing and able to work in Beirut and all field offices.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for Nationals. Basic Salary 120 USD per working day consultancy fee is offered initially for a period of 5 weeks. This position is likely to become a full time position, at which point the contract would be converted based on DRC salary scale and benefits.
