Who are we?
DRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade, running a combination of livelihood, protection, advocacy and relief projects. DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Lebanon, Syria, Tunisia/Libya, Turkey, and both a country and regional office in Jordan.
DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects.

About the job
The Safety Officer responsibility is to monitor the overall security situation, enforce security regulations and provide sound and timely advice to DRC/DDG staff and management in order to support the safe and efficient delivery of programme activities in the designated area of operations. The Safety Officer will be reporting to the National Safety Coordinator.
Duties
• Supervise the monthly assessment of the Minimum Operating Safety Standards (MOSS) and Safety Level System (SLS) for Tripoli office.
• Manage the WhatsApp alert networks in assigned areas of responsibility
• Ensure timely submission of Safety Incident Reports
• Monitor the evolving situation in the area of DRC/DDG operations in coordination with other actors (e.g. NGOs/INGOs, UN agencies, national/local authorities and civil society entities)as per regional, country and programme guidelines Facilitate access and operations through the provision of dependable advice to staff and managers
• Collect, verify, analyze and report information that affects, or may affect, DRC operations
• Assist in training program staff on security procedures, as required
• Provide advice on programme development and implementation
• Supervise the implementation of regional security policies, protocols and procedures related to the safe implementation of programme activities
• Ensure that appropriate access controls are in place for all DRC facilities
• Conduct site assessments and advise on mitigation measures, as required
About you
To be successful in this role you must have tertiary education (Bachelor minimum) in communication, politics, risk management or other related field, 1– 3 years experience working with NGOs, other international agencies or multinational business. You also need to have experience in representing the organization at public meetings, management and/or supervisory experience, experience in reporting to senior managers and government agencies.
Ideally you will also have the ability to deliver trainings to staff along with mentoring Safety Assistant and to be certified as a first aider.
We offer
An interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant a 6 months contract, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from mid April 2016 and be willing and able to work in Tripoli.
Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Employment for National staff. This position will be placed at level C1, equivalent to 1,650$ per month.
