We are looking for a highly qualified candidate to coordinate and collaborate with the other protection team. Who are weDRC has been operating in the Middle East and North Africa for over a decade , running a combination of livelihood , protection ,advocacy and relief projects .DRC has six project offices throughout Iraq, Syria , Tunisia/Libya , Turkey , and both a country and regional office in Jordan .Since May 2011, DRC has been actively involved in the Lebanon emergency response to the Syrian crisis with presence in the North, East (Bekaa valley) and South of Lebanon. . The DRC response is designed around 4 majors sectors: Food /NFI distribution, Protection, Shelter and livelihood support. As such, DRC is positioned in Lebanon as a main implementing partner of UNHCR, UNICEF , WFP , ECHO and DANIDA , implying a rapid expansion of its programme and structure.For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dkAbout the jobYou will be responsible for providing direct supervision for the implementation of activities in support of persons with specific needs and assistance of vulnerable groups. Duties• To support Protection Assistants through the provision of technical support and guidance. To ensure that staff implement and respect protection principles in the PwSN support.• To contribute to the maintenance of an up-to-date service mapping of the service providers operating in the area and ensure that protection assistants are informed about the available services; • To oversee Individual Protection Assistance (IPA) including follow up on referrals and action plans and support on services provided to PwSN(awareness sessions, emotional support sessions); • Organize and coordinate daily field visits and Focus Group Discussions/participatory assessments/rapid protection assessment, assign referrals to protection assistants and ensure that reports are submitted systematically (Tools, questionnaires, physical files) including preparation of weekly and monthly work plans in a timely manner upon Protection Officer’s validation; • Carry out field visits and conduct home visits, awareness sessions, Focus Group Discussions/participatory assessments;• Work with the child protection section, SGBV and other sectors to ensure protection prevention and response is adequately addressed across sectors and humanitarian interventions;• Develop protection training materials, as well as awareness raising materials that can be used with the communities in collaboration with the Protection Officer• Support Protection Officer in the submission of internal and donors reports as per schedule upon Protection manger validation; • Maintain and update database on protection activities, including provision of support in writing reports on the protection activities/team (achievements, challenges, recommendations, etc.), and archive all the documents relevant to the protection activities; About youTo be successful in this role you must have a bachelor in Social work, political science, law or related field; ability to maintain confidentiality, respect, non-discrimination and safety of client at all times; Excellent interpersonal and problem-solving skills, creativity, Comfortable in a multi-cultural environment, flexible and able to handle pressure well, flexibility in working overtime when needed, Computer literacy (Microsoft Word and Excel) , at least3-4 years experience in related field ,experience managing teams ,experience providing trainings and building capacity of staff Ideally you will also have Master degree in Social work, counseling, psychology or other related field, Excellent reporting skills, previous experience in international organizations and humanitarian settings, previous experience working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon We offerAn interesting job in one of the world’s best NGOs.
