Team Leader - Bekaa

The Danish Refugee Council (DRC) is a humanitarian, non-governmental and nonprofit organization, founded in 1956, that works in more than 30 countries around the world. DRC has been operating in Lebanon since 2004, working with Palestinian and Iraqi refugees, as well as Lebanese communities affected by the war in 2006. DRC is committed to basic humanitarian principles; including impartiality and neutrality, and offers the highest standards of accountability to the people it serves. DRC Lebanon has been assisting the Syrian displaced, fleeing Syria into northern Lebanon, since May 2011. This assistance has come through the provision of food and non-food items, various outreach activities (registration, follow-up and awareness sessions) rehabilitation of collective shelters and the implementation of quick impact projects. DRC is inviting local candidates to apply for the position of Team Leader, to support its activities under the project "Emergency Response for Displaced Syrians in the Bekaa" in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR). Responsibilities: Main tasks: Close monitoring of all parts of project implementation Supervision, management and coaching of the team, ensuring effective division and efficient delivery of work Information management, ensuring correct, mainstreamed and efficient information collection by the team as well as collecting and sharing relevant information regularly to the management on the situation in terms of security, displacement patterns etc. Representing DRC in the Bekaa in relation to Lebanese authorities, donors, partners and other stakeholders Management of the office, ensuring proper administrative and financial compliance as per the DRC Operations Handbook in close cooperation with the Finance and Administration Officer. Following up on the security situation, implementing appropriate safety measures as requested by the Programme Manager and Country Director Reporting regularly to the Safety Focal Point Performing duties in close coordination with the project manager and capacity building officer Coordination:Continuous coordination with UNHCR, partners involved, local authorities and other stakeholders as relevant. Reporting: Reporting regularly to the Programme Manager and/or Country Director as requested Collect input to and submit monthly/interim and final project reports to the Program Manager Provide input to any other reporting as requested by Program Manager or Country Director Other:Fulfilling any other relevant duties as requested by the Programme Manager or Country Director. Qualifications & Experience: University degree; preferably related to social work Minimum 5 years of relevant work experience NGO experience Minimum 3-5 years of management experience Experienced in the field of protection Experience in emergency work is a plus Required Skills: Ability to lead groups Good communication skills Excellent interpersonal skills Commitment to the values, vision and mission of DRC Good computer skills (PowerPoint, Word, Excel) Self-motivation and strong team spirit Well-developed organizational and planning skills Good writing skills Ability to speak, read and write Arabic and English Starting date:1 April 2012 Conditions: DRC offers a competitive local salary and benefits package. The position will require full presence in the Bekaa (based in Chtoura) from Monday till Friday, in addition to weekends when needed.
