We are looking for a highly qualified candidate that has the skills to engage in our organization as a Translator. Who are weThe Danish Refugee Council has worked in Lebanon since September 2004, and the programs have followed the country’s needs and progress. The main focus of today’s efforts in Lebanon is to help the hundreds of thousands of Syrian refugees, who have fled across the border to find protection from the conflict in their homeland. DRC is simultaneously maintaining the efforts toward the vulnerable groups of Palestinian refugees in Lebanon. More than 200.000 Syrian refugees have received assitance from the Danish Refugee Council since the beginning of the crisis. For further information about DRC, please refer to our website: www.drc.dk Duties• Working with lead evaluation consultant: Oral translation English to Arabic (Kurdish?) and vice versa to groups or individuals• Translation of documents in Arabic and English as required• Through effective communication help to facilitate FGD and interviews with the Lead consultant About youTo be successful in this role you must have conducted oral translation to groups of people (English and Arabic), fluency in English/Arabic spoken and written, and effective communication skills Language: English and Arabic (essential) spoken and written fluency requiredKurdish (for Iraq)Turkish (for Turkey) Ideally you will also have Certificate or degree in Social studies, development studies or other related field and experience of being part of an evaluation team, working with NGOs/development agency. We offerAn interesting internship in one of the world’s best NGOs. DRC will offer the successful applicant an internship contract till end of August, renewable dependent on both funding and performance. You must be available to start work from July 2015 and be willing and able to work in Beirut with travel to Turkey.Salary and conditions will be in accordance with Danish Refugee Council’s Terms of Interns for National staff.
