Introduction
DRC is an International non-governmental organization, which promotes and supports durable solutions to the problems faced by refugees and internally displaced people all over the world.
In response to the Syrian refugees entering Lebanon, DRC has established programmes to support the refugees. DRC’s response is in the following Sectors: core relief items; community services; food, protection, and shelter.
Position’s Overall Objectives
The Warehouse Supervisor, in coordination and cooperation with the supporting staff, and supervised by the HOO for daily administration and operations, and the Logistics Manager for Technical Control is expected to substancially contribute to:
Overall responsibility, control and operation of the Warehouse.
Fulfilling objectives and directions from theHOO.
Position’s Specific Objectives
Furthermore, the Warehouse Supervisor, in coordination and cooperation with supporting staff, is expected to purse the following objectives in his/her daily work:
Daily prepare the goods for distribution, or resupply to other DRC Warehouses.
Daily receive goods from the suppliers and donors.
Responsibilities and Tasks
To achieve the overall and specific position’s objectives the Warehouse Supervisor will perform the following tasks and undertake the following responsibilities:
Daily supervision of the Warehouse staff and casual labourers
Liaising with suppliers for coordination of deliveries.
Planning and monitoring the receipt, storage, loading and dispatch of goods
Ensure all activities are undertaken in full compliance with all donor regulations and DRC Operations Handbook policy and procedures
Overseeing stock control.
Ensure that good house keeping is conducted daily, weekly and monthly.
Maintaining DRC warehouse documentation in an orderly and systematic filing system.
Planning future storage capacity and locations within the Warehouse.
Conduct routine stock takes of stocks and assets
Organising the training of staff.
Motivating and encouraging teamwork within the Warehouse
Producing regular Reports and statistics on a daily, weekly and monthly basis
Maintaining standards on health and safety, hygiene and security in the Warehouse
Understand and ensure the observance of the DRC Code of Conduct.
Qualifications & Experience
Warehousing/Logistics Certification
University qualification (desirable)
5 years experience in supervision/control of a large warehouse
Proven team player and leader
Staff supervision experience
Demonstrate a sound knowledge of warehouse documentation procedures and systems
Good communication and negotiation skills
NGO experience (desirable)
Computer Skills: Intermediate level in MS Word and Excel
Fluent in English and Arabic
