Videographer

The Videographer will undertake the following tasks:

    • Collaborate closely with the Project Manager to understand the project objectives, target audience, and key messages for the awareness-raising videos.
    • Develop detailed shot lists, storyboards, and production schedules for each of the 2 awareness-raising videos.
    • Transform the prisoners’ stories into short animated videos
    • Ensure high-quality video and audio recording, utilizing professional-grade equipment.
    • Adhere strictly to all ethical guidelines, in the videos.
    • Incorporate appropriate background music, graphics, text overlays, and voiceovers (if applicable).
    • Ensure professional audio mixing, color correction, and overall visual consistency.
    • Submit draft versions of each video for review and feedback from the Project Manager.
    • Incorporate feedback promptly and efficiently to produce final versions.
    • Ensure all videos adhere to the organization's branding guidelines and quality standards.
    • Provide all raw footage and final edited videos in organized, accessible digital formats.

    4. Final Report: Summarizing work, challenges, and recommendations.

    . Required Qualifications and Experience:
    • Proven professional experience in videography, video editing, and documentary filmmaking, preferably in a development, humanitarian, or social justice context.
    • Proficiency in professional video editing software.
    • Ownership of or access to professional-grade video cameras, audio recording equipment, lighting, and other necessary production tools.
    • Experience in conducting sensitive interviews and working with vulnerable populations, with a strong understanding of ethical filming practices and safeguarding.
    • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and meet tight deadlines.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Understanding of gender-based violence issues is a significant asset.
    5. Ethical Considerations:
    The Videographer must adhere to the highest ethical standards, including:
    • Do No Harm: Prioritizing the safety, dignity, and well-being of the individuals being filmed.
    • Informed Consent: Ensuring participants fully understand how their images and voices will be used and can withdraw consent at any time, especially considering the sensitive nature of their experiences.
    • Confidentiality and Anonymity: Implementing measures to protect identities as agreed upon with participants (e.g., blurring faces, using silhouettes, altering voices if requested).
    • Non-Sensationalism: Avoiding exploitative, sensationalized, or re-traumatizing portrayals of violence or suffering.
    • Trauma-Informed Approach: Exhibiting sensitivity and empathy when interacting with individuals who have experienced trauma.
    • Child Protection: Strict adherence to child protection policies if any minors are encountered or involved.
