Child protection trainer

Background

The main purpose of this role is to equip young football coaches with the knowldge and skills they need to provide a safe and nurturing environment for children they will be working with.  

Responsibilities:

The Child protection trainer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Conduct 8 training days for youths on child protection to provide them with the knowledge and skills they need to protect child and promote child welfare.
  • Prepare tools and material needed for the training.
  • Oversee the progress of the youth during the training sessions.
  • Prepare and submit training report.

 Key competencies:

  • At least 3 years’ experience in child protection, social work, youth work and counseling.
  • Strong understanding of child protection policies, procedures, and best practices.
  • Knowledge of sports, especially football, including rules, regulations, and culture of football.
  • Experience in working with children and young people in a football context.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Experience in designing, delivering and evaluating training programs.

Working Relation and Reporting Arrangement:

The child protection trainer reports directly to the project coordinator.
