Assignment Location: 2 days home-based and 1 day in a hotel outside of Beirut.

Background
Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. It has been established in Lebanon since 2016. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies and the development of democratic institutions worldwide. Democratic discourse is the basis of our mission and vision. In our work, we facilitate discussion and exchange about democratic government and the need for a continuous discourse adhering to democratic rules.
DRI is currently recruiting a Security Expert (f/m) for its country office in Lebanon. Under the supervision of DRI’s Security Focal Point, the expert will hold 1 full-day of security training for DRI Lebanon staff (11 staff members) to be held in a hotel outside of Beirut (location TBD) during Oct-Nov 2023.
Duties and responsibilitiesUnder the supervision of DRI’s Security Focal Point, the Expert will:
- Hold a one-day training workshop on security awareness and response including the following:
- Situational Awareness in case of clashes
- Emergency Preparedness in or outside the office
- Travel Security and field security awareness/preparedness
- Security & Emergency reporting – security responses
- Crisis Prevention and Recovery (please mention what kind of live simulations can be conducted)
- Update DRI’s security SOPs, Welcome pack, and Risk assessment Matrix.
- At least 5 years of professional experience in consulting international organisations in at-risk countries on security issues;
- At least 5 years of training experience;
- Deep knowledge of the Lebanese political, cultural, socio-economic, and security context;
- Fluency in written and spoken English and Arabic.
