Background
Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. It has been established in Lebanon since 2016. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies and the development of democratic institutions worldwide. Democratic discourse is the basis of our mission and vision. In our work, we facilitate discussion and exchange about democratic government and the need for a continuous discourse adhering to democratic rules.
Therefore, DRI developed a comprehensive capacity support programme for emerging civil society groups to build institutional capacities and individual competencies that enable them to develop a political agenda, build networks, and communicate their ideas. The target group will include around 25 participants from emerging civil society/change groups. The Digital Transformation expert will explain the importance of the 2022 National Digital Transformation strategy in shaping change processes amidst the Lebanese crises context and how it contributes to reforming public services and institutions, easing the planning, interconnecting the services, and preventing corruption. S/he will also examine the challenges as well as the legal and technical constraints for its effective implementation in Lebanon.
Duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of DRI’s Project Coordinator, the Expert will:
- Develop interactive and detailed training modules, a training session plan, and all accompanying background materials (½ expert day);
- Deliver a full-day training workshop to emerging civil society/change groups, following an interactive, engaging approach, e.g., discussion activities, exercises, role plays (one expert day in total);
- Prepare pre- and post-training test modules to be shared with the participants before and after the training sessions, once validated by DRI;
- Once the training is completed, submit a training report summarising the training outcomes and the pre/post tests results, and reflecting the trainees’ increase in knowledge as per the template provided by DRI (½ expert day).
Your Skills & Experience
- An advanced university degree in law, political sciences, public policies, IT, computer engineering, or relevant fields;
- At least 7 years of experience in the development of public policies, national strategies, and political reforms;
