DRI is looking for an expert in Municipal Procurement to train a cohort of 45 emerging women leaders who aspire to compete for a political mandate at the municipal level.

Background
Democracy Reporting International (DRI) is a non-partisan, independent, not-for-profit organisation registered in Berlin. It has been established in Lebanon since 2016. DRI promotes political participation of citizens, accountability of state bodies and the development of democratic institutions worldwide. Democratic discourse is the basis of our mission and vision. In our work, we facilitate discussion and exchange about democratic government and the need for a continuous discourse adhering to democratic rules.
In the framework of its project entitled “A bottom-up reform agenda for Lebanon: Supporting youth, women, and civil society actors to expand civic space”, DRI is working on empowering civic actors, particularly women, to participate in the political process, and on engaging civic and public actors in political and legal reform to advance a good governance agenda.
DRI is supporting the engagement of women in the municipal elections through networking and capacity-building. Municipal procurement is an essential topic to increase the core skills of women who are engaging in municipal elections.
To this end, DRI is recruiting an expert to design and conduct a full-day training on municipal procurement for 45 women and to develop an evaluation report upon completion of the activity.
Duties and responsibilities
Under the supervision of DRI’s Project Manager, the trainer is responsible for:
- Developing interactive and detailed training modules, a training session plan; and all accompanying background materials (½ expert day);
- Delivering one full-day training workshop that include open discussion sessions with 45 women following an interactive, engaging approach, e.g., discussion activities, exercises, role plays (One expert day);
- Preparing pre- and post-training test modules to be shared with the participants before and after the training sessions, once validated by DRI;
- Developing and submitting a training report, once the event is completed, evaluating the activity and summarising the outcomes of the intervention, following the template or outline provided by DRI (½ expert day).
Your Skills & Experience
- An advanced university degree in law, political studies, social studies, or relevant fields;
- At least 7 years of experience in delivering training on procurement and/or municipal procedures;
- Working proficiency in Arabic.
