CO Description:

Communication strategy 

Create, develop and implement an internal and external communications and social media strategy, ensuring visibility and outreach to stakeholders potentially engaged in supporting D4C.

Report achievements of the communication strategy on a monthly basis.

Plan, design and develop in coordination with a graphic designer engaging and targeting specific communication and media materials such as videos, infographics, newsletters, project brochures, press releases and banners.

Ensure harmonized and consistent layout including fonts and visuals.

Ensure that the designs are in line with D4C design guidelines

Ensure that artwork is well edited

Develop graphic and branding designs for promotional and display materials in collaboration with a graphic designer. 

Internal communication

Ensure regular communication with the D4C community

Maintain a library of program photos, videos, success stories, case studies, publications, etc. that can be shared with key stakeholders 

Manage D4C’s presence across platforms as D4C’s website and social media to extend the reach of the NGO’s program.

Manage the production of D4C’s major publications (e-news, posters, reports, special publications, brochures, flyers and other documents) and liaise with suppliers for printing and delivery when applicable. 

Develop one pagers, video case studies, and other key communications materials (factsheets, brochures, leaflets, flyers, posts etc.).

Support the production of videos for various media channels and coordinate filming and photography of activities/events with a designated photographer and archive all material 

Prepare Newsletters and Annual Reports in coordination with relevant teams.

Manage the content for the D4C’s website, social media channels or any other relevant form of communication.

 

External communication 

Track and share articles in external media and communication platforms that are relevant for D4C.

Draft and manage the visibility plans required under grant contract agreements and coordinate with donor communications focal points when necessary.

Help prepare for external-facing events and meetings, including preparation of document packages, presentations, talking points, etc.

Attend D4C’s functions and visit project sites in order to assist with documenting programs and partners through photographs, video clips, blogs, success stories, etc. and prepare posts and publications of events in a timely manner

 

Team Management 

Manage a team of volunteers and staff engaged in communications. 

Ensure coordination with the executive director and other teams within D4C. 

Support the Management and Program Teams in matters related to communications.

Respect the D4C’s code of conduct and reflect D4C’s values through all content and in all communication campaigns

Translation and proofreading 

Provide interpretation/translation of Arabic to English and vice versa when requested for publications, articles, grants, documents…

Proofread/edit written reports and translations to ensure consistency and quality of language.

REQUIREMENT 

Bachelor’s degree in design, marketing, communications, journalism or other relevant discipline

Arabic and English fluency required, with demonstrated excellent professional-level writing and editing skills in both languages

Minimum two years’ experience in communications with NGOs working in the humanitarian or development field

Demonstrated creativity and documented immersion in social media

Experience sourcing and managing content development and publishing

Experience effectively communicating information and ideas in written and visual formats

Proficiency in MS Office required with graphic design and photo/video experience preferred

Familiarity with design software and technologies (such as InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop)

Strong organizational, multi-tasking, interpersonal, communications, and teamwork skills

Hardworking, energetic, willing to learn and contribute toward D4C projects goal.

An eye for detail and impeccable grammar

Able to work with minimal direction and supervision, independent and self-sufficient.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS

- The position is a consultancy job for a six months period, depending on the employee’s performance, may be offered a longer term, and is renewable on mutual agreement.
- The salary will be paid on a monthly basis.
- The position is based in Beirut, Lebanon.
- Working hours will depend on the tasks at hand and will be agreed upon by both parties. The successful candidate must be willing to work extra hours and on weekends, when necessary.
- The successful candidate is expected to start working in february 2022 at the latest.

Application Submission Guidelines

As part of achieving its mission, D4C is seeking a Communications Officer to assist in reaching a larger number of the community through a creative communications strategy. The CO will be responsible for preparing and implementing a communication strategy,  updating the website content, managing the association’s various social media channels, tracking data analytics and maintaining media archives to prepare reports for management. Indeed, the CO will assist and coordinate the design and production of media to create engaging and on-brand graphics for a variety of media.
