Consultancy period: 3 months, starting asap
Required qualifications, competences and knowledge
4th year (or above) student or fresh graduate in Architecture (0-2 years experience)
Language: English and Arabic (Writing proficiency in both).
Good working knowledge of standard office Software (Excel, Word, Power Point) and 2/3D Software (AutoCAD, Sketchup) and Adobe Photoshop
Ability to work within a team.
Willingness to up-skill as required by the tasks to be performed.
Familiarity with Palestinian camps is considered as an asset.
Responsibilities
Consultant to provide technical support to UNRWA’s Camp Improvement Team at Baddawi Camp.
Tasks
Producing Urban analysis of Baddawi Camp and its surroundings in the form of maps, drawings, infographics
Assisting in community workshops and focus groups
Conducting interviews with Baddawi residents
Conducting interviews with camp residents
Developing design concepts for CIP projects and interventions at architectural and urban scale
Assisting in developing Camp Improvement Plan report
Description of Project
GIZ provides technical support to UNRWA’s Camp improvement Program (CIP) This program addresses the deteriorating living conditions in the Palestine refugee camps. The programme focuses on improving the physical and social environment of the camps through a community-driven planning approach that includes refugees in the planning and design process.
