Assessment Of Establishments / Companies In The Field Of Architecture / Civil Engineering

Project title: “Rehabilitation of Lebanese public schools with Syrian refugee children and development of school capacities, including for disadvantaged Lebanese children” / "ELCaps" Assessment of establishments / companies in the field of architecture / civil engineering The Deutsche Gesellschaft fuer Internationale Zusammenarbeit (GIZ) is owned by the Federal Republic of Germany and works worldwide in the fields of international cooperation for sustainable development. GIZ provides viable forwarded solutions for political, economic, ecological and social development in a globalized world. Our corporate objective is to improve people`s lives on a sustainable basis. GIZ currently supports Lebanon in the water and education sector and is commissioned with rehabilitation of public school buildings in Lebanon. Financed by the German Ministry of Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and the European UnionMADAD Trust Fund and in close cooperation with the partner Ministry of Education and Higher Education (MEHE) GIZ already rehabilitated and is still working on several public school buildings. During the next weeks some more schools in North Lebanon, Mount Lebanon and Bekaa will be selected for further rehabilitation works. For this further school rehabilitation works GIZ is looking for establishments and / or companies for planning, tendering and supervision. The main phases of the contracts will be: - Phase 01: documentation of current status by measurements and drawings and with statements to the physical needs of the building and - Planning and design of rehabilitation measures incl. cost estimations and - preparation of tender documents for further tender process by GIZ - phase 02: site supervision incl. reporting and cost control and - documentation (“as built”) and final cost overview and - Liability management for the time of 1 year after over-handing All works are related to the individual needs and the current status of each single school. In general the focus for most of the schools is on these works : Ensure of construction; securing of escape ways; water proofing; new sanitary-areas; barrier-free access at least to the main floor; plaster; electricity; windows and doors; flooring; painting; playground; etc. – this list is not complete but shall give an overview about typical works. The budgets for construction works per school are between approximately 50.000,- 400.000,-USD. The schools are mostly in use during construction time and mostly even with a second shift in the afternoon. According to the location of the schools several lots with appr. 2-4 schools each will be created and contracted. If your professional profile full fills the criteria: - company and / or establishment - formation of company and / or establishment: latest 2012 (around 5 years of experience) - member of Order of Engineers and Architects in Lebanon or similar - experience in planning, tendering, super vision for at least 5 years - experience in the field of rehabilitation for at least 2 years - experiences in the field of rehabilitation of school buildings is of advantage - experience in the field of rehabilitation of buildings in usage is of advantage - valid professional indemnity insurance for all activities we are very interested in your application. Qualified establishments / companies interested to be short listed for further tendering should: - Download the attached “Questionnaire for Architects / Engineers and Contractors“ - Fill out / print / stamp and sign / scan this document and - submit this scan by mail to info-lebanon@giz.de ( mailto:info-lebanon@giz.de ) - latest day for submission: 10.April 2017 (10 calendar days) - mandatory subject of the mail: “Rehabilitation” - each attendant is free to attach also one other document – but: this document should be related to this specific field of rehabilitation Further process: - GIZ will do a pre-selection from all application according the questionnaires GIZ received - The establishments / companies from this pre-selection will be contacted for a further interview in the GIZ office, in the office or even at a construction site of the applicant - The questionnaires and the results of these interviews / visits are part of the selection process for a further list of establishments and companies. - The aim of this selection process is the creation of al longlist of interested companies - When required qualified establishments / companies only from this list will be invited to submit a specific offer. - In any case GIZ reserves itself the right to select the companies for the shortlist. GIZ is under no obligation whatsoever. - Applicants who are not selected will be informed accordingly.
