Purpose of the Assignment
The component of the Qudra program on Skills Development is piloting in cooperation with the Directorate General for Vocational and Technical Education and the EU funded project "Technical Assistance for more practice oriented VTE in Lebanon" (ProVTE) the implementation of competency based trainings in the construction sector at 2 public technical institutes in Tripoli and Batroun[1]. The trainings will be offered to Syrian refugees and (vulnerable) Lebanese youth (in 50/50 ratio). The assigned consultant is supposed to raise awareness about the trainings, reach out to the target group, organize informational sessions in order to facilitate the registration process and to identify community projects.
Focus of Assignment:
The assigned consultant will conduct outreach to youth assuring gender balance as well as equal engagement in approaching Syrian and Lebanese youth and he/she will facilitate the registration to the competency based trainings. The assigned party will hold a informational event at the technical institutes for the interested youth and present the competency based training approach. Moreover, he/she will support in the registration procedures followed by the informational session and identify and facilitate the implementation of community projects together with the Qudra SO2 action staff.
Scope of Work
- Familiarization with the Qudra program and the component of Skills Development
- Door to door outreach
- Distribution of informational flyers about the training activities / update the informational flyers
- Raising awareness about the competency based training program
- Filling out the assessment sheet with potential trainees
- Conceptualization and planning of informational events at the technical institutes in order to inform about the competency based training program
- Planning, arranging and monitoring transportation service for informational session
- Acting as a focal point for interested youth in registering to the training program
- Acting as a focal point for trainers and principals in questions related to potential and registered trainees
- Compiling a database of all interested trainees attending the informational session
- Contacting beneficiaries and their families upon request
- Compile monthly outreach reports
- Organization of transportation service and lunch service
- Identifying locations for community projects
- Conduct follow-up questionnaire with trainees after completion of the competency based training in order to investigate the impact of the training program on the employment situation
- Attendance at meetings upon request
