A. Required qualifications, competencies, and experience
Qualifications
Technical degree in business administration or similar fields
Professional experience: At least 1-year labor experience in a comparable position
Other knowledge, additional competences
Good knowledge of the English and Arabic languages (speaking, reading, and writing), German is a plus
Good working knowledge of ITC technologies and computer applications (e.g. MS Office)
B. Responsibilities
The Finance Assistant will be responsible for:
Holds cash boxes of the office
Calculation of travel expenses for Counterparts, consultants, AMAs and NPs
Invoice checking and preparation of cash and bank payments
Deputizing the Finance Officer at the GIZ Office Beirut in case of absence.
In this context, the position holder fulfills the following tasks:
C. Tasks
1. Travel expenses
Checking and preparation of service travel requests
Calculation of advanced payments
Assistance for ticket procurement
Coordination with a travel agency
Checking, calculation, and settlement of travel expenses
Report to Head Quarter of international Travel / Absence of Expat-GIZ-Employees (AMA)
2. Cashbook holder
Reconciles the cash book and cash account daily
Reports any surplus or shortfall in cash
Reports without delay if the cash holding reaches a minimum level
3. Other duties/additional tasks
Scans photocopies and documents as needed
Reports without delay to the person responsible for accounting on all problems in financial administration and compliance with rules
Filing financial administration documents and treating information confidentially
Performs other duties and tasks at the request of management
The job description can be amended during the contract period
